Snake Evolution

A century of anatomical and phylogenetic studies have determined that snakes evolved from lizards. 90 million years ago the snakes story begun. The first pre-snake recognized ancestor appeared 90 million years ago in Argentina. But one thing to say: We don’t know where she came from!

I’m really interested on evolution in snakes. How they evolve? Why? How? against what odds? against which species and with the help of whom? how genetics changed and what are their genes capable of?
